Description
This project explores the adaptive use of shipping containers to create a four-storey commercial building organized around shared circulation and outdoor courtyard spaces. The design leverages the inherent structural logic of containers to form a flexible framework that supports classrooms, studios, and collaborative workspaces. By stacking and offsetting volumes, the building introduces daylight, visual connections, and moments of openness within a compact footprint.
Flexible Spatial Framework
The container system allows spaces to be easily configured, combined, or adapted over time. Clear circulation spines and open-to-below areas create visual continuity across floors, supporting both independent use and collective activity.
Courtyard-Centered Experience
A central courtyard anchors the project, bringing light, air, and greenery into the heart of the building. This shared outdoor space acts as an informal gathering area, strengthening social interaction and improving environmental comfort.
Efficient Construction Logic
Using modular containers streamlines assembly and reduces construction complexity while maintaining architectural clarity. The project demonstrates how industrial components can be reinterpreted into functional, human-scaled commercial environments.
