Description

The Tzu Chi Buddhist Tower explores the integration of traditional Buddhist architectural principles with a contemporary design language. The project emphasizes clarity, proportion, and material expression to create a calm and dignified presence within an urban context, balancing spiritual contemplation with public engagement.

Sacred Order

The architectural composition reinterprets traditional Buddhist spatial hierarchies through modern massing and geometry. Clear axes and proportional relationships establish a sense of balance, orientation, and spiritual focus.

Material Continuity

Material choices draw inspiration from traditional stone and crafted surfaces, reimagined through contemporary construction techniques. The result is a restrained yet expressive envelope that bridges cultural heritage and modern architecture.

Urban Tranquility

Within a dense city environment, the building introduces layered thresholds and transitional spaces that support meditation, gathering, and everyday use, offering a quiet retreat while remaining connected to the public realm.
